GoSplit was founded with a simple idea: to make commuting cheaper and greener for everyone. We saw a problem, too many empty seats in cars and too many people driving alone in traffic and we envisioned a solution: a platform that connects people so they can share rides.

It all started in 2025 when our founder, Vivian, was carpooling to work with a friend. Realising how much money they saved on fuel, and how much faster the commute was using the T2 transit lane the idea for GoSplit was born. 

Why shouldn’t more people have access to a convenient carpooling system? Vivian teamed up with tech-savvy partners to turn this idea into an easy-to-use app.

GoSplit officially launched in Auckland in 2025. Since then, our carpooling network has expanded to Hamilton, and we are gearing up to add more locations soon. What began as a single shared ride has grown into a movement of commuters across New Zealand, all splitting rides and making daily travel better.

Our name captures what we do! We’re all about splitting rides, costs, and emissions. It’s a call to action: go split your ride instead of going alone.
